Fitness Goals

Honestly, exercising can be as complicated as deciphering Egyptian hieroglyphs, which nobody really wants to do. It is our desire to have well-toned muscle and bodies that are free from fatigue but the couch that is a symbol of comfort and delaying tactics.

To rid oneself of the temptation of the sofa, one needs to incorporate SMART health objectives. The acronym used to stand for the characteristics of goals was known as SMART, which stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-bound. These are not merely the latest highfalutin terms; they are the magic bullets behind those dreams that are nothing but wishy-washy goals.

Specificity: Sharpening Your Target

Think about going to an archery range and then to shoot without seeing where to aim. Getting an arrow to the heart or center of the target must have been a miracle, true? The same applies to the fitness objectives that people often set in their exercise routines. Instead of a vague “get in shape,” it is better to have something more specific.

For instance, at one time I wanted to increase my abdominal muscle mass. A SMART goal could be: For the next 4 weeks, the exercise is plank and the repetitions are 10 and the sets are 3 with the frequency being every other day.

Measurability: Tracking Your Triumphs

We all like to sit proudly in our arm chairs munching on popcorn as we watch a powerful hero saving the world evolving from a regular person. But what if it was completely the opposite; they trained in the dark, not even sure if they are indeed getting any mightier? Well, that would not make very interesting a movie, now would it?

Specific objectives make it easy to monitor the achievements hence enabling you to see similar transformations of Clark Kent to Superman. Distance run or weights lifted or number of times you eat healthy are other ways you can measure it.

For example, you set goals for cardiovascular endurance. A SMART goal could be: For example, ”I will run for 30 minutes, three times a week, and gradually increase the distance by 0.

Attainability: Preparing the Stages

Would it be wise to try and lift a car with your bare hands, just to prove a point? Unless you are perhaps the Incredible Hulk, that is not going to happen. Dreaming or setting a goal that is not attainable is something that is likely to demoralize a person.

Attainability is all about putting yourself under pressure to get a good result but not so much under pressure that you can’t achieve it. It is best to set goals based on a customers current fitness activities and try to set up goals that will gradually build up the intensity.

For example, if you have been dormant on the exercise regimen part, it will not be very wise to set a goal of running a marathon within the next one month. A more attainable goal could be: Thus, for the first month I will walk for 20 minutes, four times a week, and then for the next month I will increase the minutes per session by 5 at a time.

Why It Matters: Setting Fitness Goals for You

Has anyone ever noticed how a squirrel gather lots of small, shinning bottle caps all together in one place?I do not think so because the said caps do not relate to a squirrel in any way much as they would to a woman the reference to cap obviously makes clear. The same applies to goals set up in fitness regimen or programs that targets the availability of specific physical body shape and health.

They have to be related to your general health and fitness of the body as well as the mind. Perhaps you need to enhance your productivity, have better night’s sleep, or just be a little happier with your appearance.

Suppose that your goals are that before beach trip you want to feel more confident. A SMART goal could be: ’I will perform body weight exercises that focus on my stomach and buttocks muscles, three times per week during the next 6 weeks. ’ This goal is related to the desire of feeling confident as it includes a definite course of action.

Time-Bound: For the first process, creating a sense of urgency, all the following pieces of advice were taken after carefully considering their relevance to the current situation in the company.

First of all, let us regard such a superhero who has no particular time to save the world. There would be a tremendous amount of popcorn consumption along with some heavy-handed villain soliloquies. Time constraints in particular make us step up our efforts and in part drive us forward.

Measurable goals provide a time frame to your exercise regime. From this, one is able to set and achieve goals, hence remain motivated.
